Possibly related to Proto-Mongolic *ebcexün (chest), whence Mongolian өвчүү (övčüü), or Proto-Mongolic *emüne (front, south, anterior) possibly as a result of secondary nasalization of *b, paralleling the pair *gadar and *gadana.
