I agree there's a citation problem- my cursory glance at archive.org pulled up this: strange usage slang usage --Geographyinitiative (talk) 18:21, 20 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
OED has "an abductor, specifically a person providing forced labour to the West Indies or North America by means of trickery or abduction". I think that is the "strange usage" in your first link. This, that and the other (talk) 01:28, 21 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
