surely the definition could be more specific?
I'd like to confirm the second pronunciation /soʊrd/, as shown on Dictionary.com. If it is really used in American English, it must be disyllabic like sower. Isn't it rather pronounced like the non-rhotic sowed? — TAKASUGI Shinji (talk) 04:42, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
- I could not find /soʊrd/ at Dictionary.com. I would say that in American English, it should be pronounced /soɻd/, but some people may pronounce it /ˈsoʊ.ɚd/. —Stephen (Talk) 08:09, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
