Request reason:
- You were just blocked on Wikipedia for "clearly not [being] here to build an encyclopedia". What would you contribute here? — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 07:10, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Things related to etymology. Adding descendants to older words, marking doublets, adding older words, etc. And bluelinking words in general. To me the Wikipedia block is unfair and unneeded anyway; Bbb23 has still not gotten back to me on how I was/am "not there" to build an encyclopaedia. I explained in my unblock request that I never meant to sockpuppet. A westman (talk) 14:22, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Can you provide some examples of the edits you would make, were your block to be lifted? — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 15:47, 3 November 2023 (UTC)
- Add the other sense of the suffix -'s (a contraction of "is" after words), remove the "dated" statement at greetings, add the sense of might as subjunctive form of may, mark might as a descendant at mihte and meahte, and expand the etymology of -n't to this:
- Contraction of -not by elision of vowel, from a univerbation of not and some words (see usage notes) when before not.
A westman (talk) 20:32, 5 November 2023 (UTC)- OK. Seems good faith enough, so I'll lift the block, but I'll warn you that repeating vandalism will land you another block. Some of those don't seem particularly correct, though. The contraction of is is documented under 's, and I'm not convinced -not has ever really existed, in which case it wouldn't be appropriate to link to it. — SURJECTION / T / C / L / 20:45, 5 November 2023 (UTC)
- Should I or shouldn't I be reblocked? A westman (talk) 16:34, 4 December 2023 (UTC)

I have no idea what you were thinking when you removed the adjective section and a whole bunch of translations, but it's not like a vandal just added it- it's been in the entry for over 20 years. Even if it wasn't the kind of basic vocabulary that native speakers learn before they start school, there's no excuse for removing it without even mentioning at RFVE or RFDE that you were going to do so. Please think things through, and check the context. More important, don't make major changes like that without consensus. Chuck Entz (talk) 06:25, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
- I removed it because I thought the adjective section was redundant to orange (colour) as in the noun section because I am stupid and did not realize that the two colour definitions were for two unlike parts of speech. That's my fault. A Westman talk stalk 16:41, 21 January 2024 (UTC)
hemoglobin/haemoglobin copyvio edits
[edit]Hi! I noticed you moved some content from hemoglobin to haemoglobin without attribution and I just wanted to let you know that doing so violates Wiktionary's copyright policies, as the user-generated text content here is generally released under licenses that requires attribution. In general, if you would like to move content from one page to another, you need to at least indicate that it was copied and the page from which it came so that people know who wrote the content. Some good resources where you can find more information on applicable policies and reccomended procedures for inter- and intra-wiki copying are at WT:COPY, w:WP:CWW, and w:WP:MERGE. For now, I'm reverting your edits, but feel free to re-implement them with proper attribution and consensus. Indigopari (talk) 13:56, 4 April 2024 (UTC)

- For my part, I'm inclined to decline. You've said similar (that you would do better) before after earlier blocks, both here and on other projects, only to then act up again, so I get the sense that the underlying attitude not actually likely to change. (Your Wikipedia talk page from here down is also informative.) However, I leave the request here/open, if any other admin reaches a different conclusion. - -sche (discuss) 01:12, 4 June 2024 (UTC)
