From New Latin agalactia, from Ancient Greek ἀγαλακτία (agalaktía, “lack of milk”), from ἀγάλακτος (agálaktos) + -ῐ́ᾱ (-íā), from ᾰ̓- (a-, “not; without”) + γᾰ́λᾰ, γᾰ́λᾰκτος (gála, gálaktos, “milk”).[1][2]
