Etymology

Back-formation from arányoz (to arrange according to ratio)). Created during the Hungarian language reform, which took place in the 18th–19th centuries.[1] The obsolete verb arányoz is from an unattested stem + -ány +‎ -oz (noun suffix) +‎ [Term?] (verbal suffix).
