Bikol Central buhay, Cebuano buhi, Hiligaynon buhi, Agusan Manobo buhi, Ata Manobo bui and Buhi'non Bikol, Libon Bikol, Miraya Bikol buway), possibly from Proto-Malayo-Polynesian *bihaʀ (compare Sambali biyay, Kapampangan bie, and Ivatan vyay). Possible doublet of bihag.
