From Old French entraper (catch in a trap), see en- +‎ trap

Verb

Lua error in Module:en-headword at line 1145: Legacy parameter 1=STEM no longer supported, just use 'en-verb' without params

  1. (transitive) To catch in a trap or snare.
  2. (transitive) To lure (someone), either into a dangerous situation, or into performing an illegal act.
