From French giraffe (now girafe), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Arabic زَرَافَة (zarāfa, giraffe); ultimately from Persian زُرنَاپَا (zurnāpā), a compound of زُرنَا (zurnā, flute) and پَا (, leg).
