Verb

sulla (weak verb, third-person singular past indicative sullaði, supine sullat)

  1. to splash around, to splash about
    Ég vil sulla í pollinum!
I wanna go splashing about in the puddle!
Þetta er mynd af Önnu að sulla.

Usage notes

  • The verb sulla and sulla saman (to mix together) denote a hint of apathy, carelessness or casualness of the doer's actions.
  • This verb may be found childish.
  • In the sense of "spilling" the preposition á (on) may be added to give information as to where one spilled something:
    Ég sullaði mjólk á gólfið.
I spilled milk on the floor.
