Etymology

Third persons from Ancient Greek ἀφοράω, ἀφορῶ (aphoráō, aphorô, look at carefully). Morphologically, from αφ- (απο-) (prefix, here emphasizing) + the ancient ὁράω, ὁρῶ (horáō, horô, look). Semantic loan from French regarder (ça me regarde)[1] or concerner (en ce qui concerne)[2]

αφορά (aforá) (imperfect αφορούσε) found only in the imperfective tenses in 3rd persons only[3]
