Etymology
[edit]From пра́вый (právyj, “correct”) + -о- (-o-) + писа́ть (pisátʹ, “to write”) + -а́ние (-ánije), or their equivalents in Old Church Slavonic, calque of Ancient Greek ὀρθογραφία (orthographía), from ὀρθός (orthós, “correct”) and γράφω (gráphō, “I write”).
