Etymology
[edit]From Aramaic אֱלָהָא (ʾĕlāhā), from Proto-Semitic *ʔil-; compare Arabic إِلٰه (ʔilāh), اللّٰه (allāh), Hebrew אֵל (el), אֱלוֹהַּ (elóah), אֱלוֹהִים (elohím) and Akkadian 𒀭 (ilum). Doublet of ܐܹܝܠ (ēl).
