Compound of particle de (“locative”) and wa (“focus”).

では (romaji de wa)

1. at

   彼は家ではおとなしい。

   In the house, he is quiet. (Otherwise, he may be not quiet.)

   ここでは駐車が出来ない。

   Cannot park in the place. (Maybe can park in other place.)

では (romaji de wa)

1. well; so; well then, used in sentences as an interjection or conjunction.

     では C-v （次の画面を見る）をタイプして次の画面に進んで下さい。（さあ、やってみましょう。コントロールキーを押しながら v です）

     では C-v （つぎのがめんをみる）をたいぷしてつぎのがめんにすすんでください。（さあ、やってみましょう。コントロールキーを押しながら v です）
