Usage notes[edit]

  • (distributive suffix) It is used only with temporal expressions. Variants:
    -onta is added to some back vowel words ending in a consonant
    nap (day) → naponta (daily)
    -anta is added to some back vowel words ending in a consonant
    nyár (summer) → nyaranta (every summer)
    -ente is added to unrounded front vowel words ending in a consonant
    év (year) → évente (yearly)
    -önte is added to rounded front vowel words ending in a consonant
    ősz (autumn) → őszönte (every autumn)
