Albanian[edit]

Alternative forms[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From mbar (I bring (back), return) (from Proto-Albanian *en-bara; further related to Albanian mbart (I bear, carry), mbaroj (I finish, complete, end, fulfill, comply), mbaj (I carry, hold)).[1]

Orel disagrees with Meyer; proposed it as a tabooistically used loanword for Latin impar (uneven, unequal).[2]
