[edit]In oracle bone inscriptions, an ideogrammic compound (會意/会意) : 人 (“person”) + [Term?] (“mark on the thigh”) – thigh. Original form of 股 (gǔ).
Shuowen interprets its later form as an ideogrammic compound (會意/会意) : 𠄎 + 夂.
