From جَمُّوں (jammū̃, Jammu) +‎ و (o, and/&) +‎ کَشْمِیر (kaśmīr, Kashmir), likely a calque of English Jammu and Kashmir. Compare Hindi जम्मू और कश्मीर (jammū aur kaśmīr).
