  1. (distributive-temporal suffix) Added to a temporal noun to form an adverb.
    Synonym: -enként
    év (year)évente (yearly)

Usage notes

  • (distributive-temporal suffix) It is used only with temporal expressions. Variants:
    -onta is added to some back-vowel words ending in a consonant
    nap (day) + ‎-onta → ‎naponta (daily)
    -anta is added to some back-vowel words ending in a consonant
    nyár (summer) + ‎-anta → ‎nyaranta (every summer)
    -ente is added to unrounded front-vowel words ending in a consonant
    év (year) + ‎-ente → ‎évente (yearly)
    -önte is added to rounded front-vowel words ending in a consonant
    ősz (autumn) + ‎-önte → ‎őszönte (every autumn)
