Alt params for Iranian Persian in Template:fa-regional

Hi @Erutuon: Could you please add alt params for Iranian Persian, the same way you did for Dari and Tajik?

The entry at اِمْپِراطور (emperâtur) could use the alt form (comma-separated) اِمْپِراتور (emperâtur).

@JWBTH This is a more powerful version of {{temp demo}}, which avoids most of the issues related to that template by requiring that the supplied Wikicode be wrapped in <nowiki>...</nowiki>. It is ported from w:Module:Demo, which I've cleaned up to use Module:parameters and generally avoid some of the nastiness of the original code (surprisingly, Wikipedia module code is generally of lower quality than Wiktionary module code despite the greater number of editors). See the documentation for some examples. Benwing2 (talk) 06:32, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

"concussion" term in meteorology, seismology, and volcanology

Hello, Is "concussion" term also used in meteorology, seismology, and volcanology other than in neurology? Please Yuliadhi (talk) 10:17, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I can at least say that I've never heard it in meteorology. I've been out of the field for quite some time, but it seems to be a very slow-moving science, with people entering school these days using pretty much the same terms I remember learning when I was in school. The term has been and may still be used discussing phenomena in meteorology, seismology, and volcanology, but the meaning doesn't seem to be other than our definition 1. DCDuring (talk) 15:31, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible to link to Unsupported titles/=) from within a synonym template? I want to add it to the synonyms list on the Unsupported titles/:) page but every way that I tried to get it in produced a Lua error (backslash, typing out "Unsupported titles", etc). Thanks, Soap 13:52, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Well =) also exists, separately, without the "Unsupported titles" prefix (I guess it's not an unsupported title?). You can link there with =). —Al-Muqanna المقنع (talk) 15:28, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies for not checking. I'd simply assumed a title could not contain an equals sign, let alone begin with one. I will nominate the page I created for speedy deletion since it is both unnecessary and confusing (the title makes it look like the person is at the regular =) page.)
However, the trick you showed me for how to paste the link does not work inside a template, so my question remains ... is it possible to make a link to =) from within a template, particularly the synonym template used on Unsupported titles/:)? Thanks, Soap 16:19, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, I see it now. I was pasting the code literally from within the edit window and you meant for me to paste it from the live page view. Again, thanks. This should be resolved now. Soap 16:21, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

em space

The em space ( ) is displayed incorrectly inside certain templates (such as {{ux}}), see e.g. hard senses 2.1 and 2.3. Einstein2 (talk) 18:14, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Theknightwho This is being caused by some weird processing done in embedded_language_links() in Module:links. Benwing2 (talk) 03:28, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Old Tupi noun template

I was messing with the Wikitionary {{head}} and ended with some ideas for Old Tupi headwork templates. What do you think? @RodRabelo7 @Bageense
