Nachdem seit dem Jahre 1900 das koreanische Halbinselreich mit Eröffnung der 42 km langen Eisenbahn von der Hauptstadt des Landes Soul nach dem an der Westküste gelegenen Hafen Chemulpo in die Reihe der Eisenbahnländer eingetreten ist, beginnt der Eisenbahnbau auch im Lande der „Morgenruhe“ lebhaftere Fortschritte zu machen. […] Dieses Interesse der Japaner an Korea bethätigt sich jetzt besonders lebhaft bei dem in Kürze beginnenden Bau der Bahn von Soul nach dem an der Südostküste gelegenen Hafenorte Fusan.
