(deprecated template usage) From Latin antidotum, from Ancient Greek ἀντίδοτον (antídoton), neuter of ἀντίδοτος (antídotos, given as a remedy for), from ἀντιδίδωμι (antidídōmi, I give in return, repay), from ἀντί (antí, against) + δίδωμι (dídōmi, I give). Compare French antidote.
