    From German dialectal Bizykel, from English bicycle, coined from bi- (two) +‎ Ancient Greek κύκλος (kúklos, circle, wheel), on the pattern of tricycle. Suffixed with -i to resolve the word-final consonant cluster, compare cetli from Bavarian zettl or German Zettel (/⁠ˈt͡sɛtl̩⁠/) etc.
