Etymology

From Proto-Mon-Khmer *tkɔɔʔ ~ *tkɔɔh (“island”). Cognate with Mon လ္ကံ (kɔˀ) or တ္ကံ (tkɔˀ), Chong kɑʔ and Mal kɔʔ.
