Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Galician-Portuguese dizer (to say), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Latin dīcere, present active infinitive of dīcō (I say; I tell), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *deyḱ-e- (to show, point out). Genetically close to Portuguese dizer and Galician dicir, but shares more areal features with Extremaduran izil.
