Etymology

From Proto-Finnic *ohjat'ak, influenced by Finnish ohjata. By surface analysis, ohi +‎ -ma. First attested in 1917 in the first Estonian-Finnish dictionary Virolais-suomalainen sanakirja by Finnish linguist Lauri Kettunen.
