pseudonym
English
Etymology
Back-formation from pseudonymous, from French pseudonyme (“pseudonymous”, adjective), from Ancient Greek ψευδώνυμος (pseudṓnumos), from ψευδής (pseudḗs, “false”) and ὄνυμα (ónuma), from ὄνομα (ónoma, “name”). Alternatively, analyzable as pseudo- + -onym.
