Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Slavic *račiti. Cognate with Serbo-Croatian рачити се/račiti se (to please), Slovene ráčiti (condescend), Slovak ráčiť (condescend, deign), dialectal Russian рачить (račitʹ, desire).
