shoddyism (usually uncountable, plural shoddyisms)

  1. (colloquial) Shoddy quality or condition.
  2. (archaic, slang, derogatory) The condition of being a nouveau riche or social climber.
  3. (archaic, slang, derogatory) The practice of suppliers who profited from United States government contracts during the Civil War by supplying cheap, inferior goods.
