άρχω • (árcho) (passive άρχομαι) found only in the present tense

1. (formal, archaic) to rule, exercise power, govern
   1. (intransitive)

      Άρχει με σιδερένια πυγμή. ― Árchei me siderénia pygmí. ― She/He rules with an iron fist.

   2. (transitive) [+genitive]

      Άρχει του κόμματος με σιδερένια πυγμή. ― Árchei tou kómmatos me siderénia pygmí. ― She/He rules the party with an iron fist.

2. (formal, archaic, passive voice) to begin
