An assimilation of сцать (scatʹ), from Proto-Slavic *sьcati (to piss) < *sьkati, from Proto-Indo-European *sikʷ-.

  1. (vulgar) to piss, urinate, pfпосса́ть (possátʹ)
  2. (vulgar) to be afraid, to fear, to chicken out, pfзасса́ть (zassátʹ)
    Не ссы, она́ тебя́ не уку́сит.Ne ssy, oná tebjá ne ukúsit.Don't be a chicken, it won't bite you (of a dog).
