[edit]Partially from the root س ن ن (s-n-n). In senses relating to aging, directly derived from سَنَة (sana, “a year”).

- (intransitive) to grow teeth, to cut one’s teeth, to teethe
- (transitive) to furnish with a toothlike projection (for example, a pointy end, a blade, and so on)
- Synonym: نَصَّلَ (naṣṣala)
- (intransitive) to advance in years, to grow old, to age
