บาน

From Wiktionary, the free dictionary

Thai

[edit]

Etymology 1

[edit]

Cognate with Lao ບານ (bān), Tày ban.

TDP separates the "door classifier", "bloom", and "much" senses, though it seems somewhat feasible that they are semantically related via an original sense of "opening up and folding out".
