Borrowed from Sanskrit सत्त्व (sattva); probably via Lua error in Module:parameters at line 290: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "mkh-okm" is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF.. Cognate with Modern Khmer សត្វ (sat), សត្ត (sɑttɑɑ); Lao ສັດ (sat), ᦶᦉᧆ (ṡaed), Burmese သတ္တဝါ (satta.wa).
