Etymology[edit]

From (した) (shita) + (こしら) (koshirae, (れん)(よう)(けい) (ren'yōkei, stem or continuative form) of the verb (こしら)える (koshiraeru).). The koshirae changes to goshirae as an instance of rendaku (連濁).
