Chinese
Glyph origin
The original form of this character is 𩆼, a historical variant of 零 found in the Song dynasty Chinese dictionary, Jiyun 《(deprecated template usage) 集韻 (Jíyùn)》.
The character 𩆼 was then erroneously printed as 霗 (霝 (líng) mistakenly substituted by 雨) in the Japanese Dai Kan-Wa Jiten and subsequently found in Zhongwen Da Cidian 《中文大辭典》, a dictionary published in Taiwan from 1962 to 1968 based on the character found in the Japanese Dai Kan-Wa Jiten.
This character can also be found in the Zhonghua Zihai 《(deprecated template usage) 中華字海》 which cites Jiyun 《(deprecated template usage) 集韻 (Jíyùn)》 as its source of reference.
