From Proto-Turkic *āg (“net”). Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰍 (ǧ /⁠ag⁠/).

ağ (definite accusative ağı, plural ağlar)

a mesh of string, cord or rope.
tenis ağı ― tennis net

balık ağı ― fish net
the silken structure which a spider builds using silk secreted from the spinnerets at the caudal tip of its abdomen; a spiderweb.
