Cognate to Low German groff, Dutch grof, Serbo-Croatian grȍb and groblje (grave), German Grab (grave) and graben (to dig), (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Czech and (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Slovak hrob (grave). Related to English gruff.
