nädīļ
Appearance
Livonian
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Compare Latvian nedēļa, Estonian nädal. Suhonen doesn't list this word as being borrowed via Latvian. On Latvian nedēļa, Karulis notes that it has been borrowed from Old East Slavic недѣлꙗ (nedělja, “Sunday”) already before 13th century.[1] Evidently this is the source of the Estonian and Livonian words as well.
