supercharge (third-person singular simple present supercharges, present participle supercharging, simple past and past participle supercharged)

  1. To increase the power of an internal combustion engine (either Otto or Diesel cycle) by compressing the inlet air with power extracted from the crankshaft.
  2. To make faster or more powerful.
  3. (heraldry) To overlay one charge upon another.
