From Byzantine Greek ἐβγάζω (ebgázō) < ἐκβάζω (ekbázō), from Ancient Greek ἐκβιβάζω (ekbibázō), from ἐκ- (ek-, ex-, out) +‎ βιβάζω (bibázō, to raise, put on).
