Etymology 2[edit]

Akin to Persian جره باز(jurra bâz), Middle Armenian ճուռակ (čuṙak), Byzantine Greek τζουράκιον (tzourákion) also meaning falcons.[1] Possibly also the source of زَارُوك(zārūk), denoting a kind of dhow of about 20 metres in length and 4 to 6 m across the beam used until the 1970s for trafficking.[2]
