   وَضَعْتُ يَدَيَّ عَلَى أُذْنَيَّ فَمَا سَمِعْتُ قَوْلَهُ.

   waḍaʕtu yadayya ʕalā ʔuḏnayya famā samiʕtu qawlahu.

   I put my hands on my ears so I didn't hear what he said.
