Calque of Literary Chinese 去者日以疏 from the early 6th century Chinese text Wen Xuan:

去者日以疏，生者日以親 [Classical Chinese, trad.]
去者日以疏，生者日以亲 [Classical Chinese, simp.]
qùzhě rì yǐ shū, shēngzhě rì yǐ qīn [Pinyin]
The departed become distant over time; Those who come become familiar over time.[1]
