"(slang) A person who spends a lot of time sitting or lying down, often watching television, eating snacks or drinking alcohol." Not in OED, which only has the first sense. If this fails, the synonyms/thesaurus will need sorting out too. Equinox 19:54, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cited. I heard this sense in the last millennium. Synonym of couch potato. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 21:31, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
I wonder whether these may simply be mistaken uses -- someone heard the phrase and misunderstood what it meant. If so, we shouldn't be perpetuating the misunderstanding. Mihia (talk) 22:13, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think the sense is common enough to have a definition. I can't speak for its origin. I doubt the uses are all by people who are unaware of the older definition. Vox Sciurorum (talk) 22:43, 19 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Both senses are mistaken uses, since they regard animals in the class Mammalia, while lizards are actually animals in the class Reptilia. — This unsigned comment was added by Lambiam (talkcontribs) at 19:26, 20 September 2020 (UTC).Reply
