Named after Bavarian physicist Georg Ohm. (deprecated template usage) [etyl] German surname, first recorded 12th century, from German Ohm (“uncle”), from a (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Germanic word. Compare Dutch oom (“uncle”).
