[edit]From plaaster (“a plaster”), (perhaps via Old French plastre, modern plâtre) from Latin emplastrum, from Ancient Greek ἔμπλαστρον (émplastron, “salve, plaster”), from ἐν- (en-, “on”) + πλάσσω (plássō, “to mold, form”).
