From Medieval Byzantine Greek ἀνεβαίνω from the ancient ἀναβαίνω (anabaínō). The epsilon ανε-, from the aorist ἀνέβην.[1]

ανεβαίνω (anevaíno) is used as a passive sense of ανεβάζω (anevázo, I lift up)
