Inherited from Old Hindi यहु (yahu), from Sauraseni Apabhramsa एहु m (ehu), एह f (eha), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀏𑀲𑁄 m (eso), 𑀏𑀲𑀸 f (esā), from Sanskrit एषः m (eṣaḥ), एषा f (eṣā).[1]
