Doublet of ગૃહ (gŕh) and ઘરું (gharũ). Cognate with Hindustani گھر / घर (ghar), Marathi घर (ghar) / 𑘑𑘨 (ghar), Marwari 𑅘 (ghar), Punjabi گھر / ਘਰ (ghar) and Nepali घर (ghar).
